I removed origional XP as I kept having problems, tried to reinstall from cd which came with pc but will load but will not work for me, I have not much knowledge of pc's but would appreciate any advice, also is it possible that I removed IE from my system by way of add/remove programs?

1 - Can you be more specific? HOW did you do it and explain the highlited part.

2 - Confusing... No, you can't remove IE via ADD/Remove. Is it "gone"?
