No local users or groups found

Hi.. I seem to have a problem with one of my servers where the system freezes and restarts when I check for Users or Groups under Computer Management or nothhing shows up in either users or groups. However, net user and net localgroup shows up all the groups. Not sure what exactly has gone wrong after one of the hard drives was replaced from the array.

One more thing is, I was wondering WHERE is the users and groups information is stored. If it is somewhere in the registry or somewhere else as a file (just in case if I can get them replaced).

What Server Version? NT4, 2000, 2003?

Apologies. It is Server 2003.

Active Directory? Part of a Domain? (Domain Controller?)

Locally, the Filename is "Windows\System32\Config\SAM" hive.
