ndh Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I have mapped a network drive to some shared folder on another computer in our network. If this other computer happens to be turned off, trying to access the network drive takes up to 2 minutes before timing out. How can I adjust this timeout value?Note: This has nothing to do with Windows automatically disconnecting network drives after a couple minutes, which is what almost all the google results are about.
jaclaz Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Maybe, just maybe, this:http://www.mcmaster.ca/ctl/slwebclient.htmhappens on 7 also. jaclaz
buyerninety Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Maybe search for the timeout 'types' mentioned in this [scrolldown, sect. 7.3.1];http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:ad1A9ZzFXj4J:http://www.motama.com/content/docs/comm/sect_error_handling.htm%2Bnetwork+drive+%22reply+timeout%22+%22tcp/ip%22&hl=en&complete=0&gbv=2&prmd=ivns&strip=1
