Here you can reduce the WinSxS size with DISMAre you suggesting Win8.1 as an alternative to Win7 or WinVista? Because that option is out; my brother's machines won't run Win8 *at all*, and if I'm running a MSWindows VM on my Linux systems, I want it to be as lightweight and pared-down as possible, since it would only be to run one or two applications that can't be used under Wine. MagicAndre1981 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Win8(.1) are able to cleanup WinSxS. So if you want this feature you must upgrade.Which CPU do your brother have? Wij8 requires SSE2, PAE and NX it support and all modern CPU support it.
