Tommy Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 So, I got a good deal on this remote and decided to buy it. However, the minimum requirements are a computer with Windows XP and up. So, I plug it in via USB and the drivers are installed successfully. However, Logitech goes so far to make sure you can't use this with an older version of Windows that it makes you install a program, which does seem to install just fine with extended kernel and all updates. (Haven't tried it on anything else). But now it goes so far that when you go to http://www.myharmony.com and login, it checks to make sure your browser and OS are at the minimum requirements. Furthermore it requires Silverlight 4.0 or higher. The only thing I was able to use to bypass this was Firefox 11 and set it to XP compatible mode. It seems to go through silverlight just fine...but as soon as it gets to 100%, the browser seems to freeze and that's it. You're forced to close Firefox. Now, this might be a coincidence but I haven't tried it yet, but I upgraded to silverlight 5.0 since BWC said it worked with the latest kernel extension, I also went to play something in wmp11, when I right clicked, I got a BSoD with a 0x0000001E code and the file seems to concern win32k.sys.So basically, is there a way to get this remote programmed on a non-Windows XP computer or will I have to find some other computer to use this with? It needs to be programmed using their web application and it seems that's the only way to do it.
