windowskernel Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Hi everyone.I just received a new computer which is not so modern but also not so old (DELL Optiplex 745 Desktop - Tech Specs) and I'd really want to install Windows 3.1 (or Windows NT 3.51, depending on what OS will work better) in a disk partition. What I want to do is to have Windows XP in a 60 Gb partition and Windows 3.1/3.51 in a 8Gb partition with DOS installed in it. I have the original installers both for DOS 6.22 and for Windows 3.1/Windows NT 3.51 (found on very old computers my uncle had at home). Will the old OS work with modern hardware (Samsung SyncMaster 720N monitor, Intel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family, integrated SoundMAX audio)?Any advice on how to install the new OS would be really appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!
submix8c Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Intel® Q965 (ICH8) Express ChipsetFail right there...Does it still have the XP on it? If so, install a VirtualPC/VirtualMachine Software and install them there as Guests of the Host XP...
