AMD VariBright

Does anyone know of any tweak utilities that can hack the VariBright thing found on AMD notebook chipsets?

I normally have it off as it's incredibly annoying (Screen brightness constantly fluctuating depending on how much white/black is on the screen) but with it on the lowest screen brightness is significantly lower than if it's off.

I'd like to be able to set that low level of screen brightness normally and without the varibright system giving me a migraine
