tomasz86 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Is the site really gone once and for all?
johk Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) Nop.Only you, me, the blog by blackwingcat and, if you want to try, Oldboy2k at thechspot Looks like he has been logged at that site and he was and admin there. Maybe he has more information. Edited November 9, 2012 by johk
OldCigarette Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Hey sorry all it's taken me so long to get to this. I haven't done much work in win2k compatibility stuff recently but I know a lot of people contributed useful information to the win2kgaming forums so I will get it back up somewhere. Oldboy2k made regular backups of the forums, but we are not sure where the best place to put it is. We had lots of trouble with 000webhost before and I think the other domain is taken now.
tomasz86 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 (edited) I've also just switched from 000webhost to Zymic and can't recommend the former any more. Zymic (*.zxq.net) was used by bristols when he was responsible for the Win2K Updates List and Mim0 uses it too for his updates list for WinXP.There's a difference though, which is that all of those are just simple websites while here we're talking about a discussion forum which is probably more complicated, although I don't really know whether it matters or not.And if you want a simple domain name, then http://www.dot.tk is free Edited December 3, 2012 by tomasz86
johk Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 No news anywhere, but the site is up again.I found yesterday by luck while, when I was reinstalling win2k because of motherboard change, I searched for the wrappers stuff I didn't remember and Google brought to me this URL:http://win2kgaming.prophpbb.com/
Cyker Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 THANK YOU! I thought it had died again, esp. when the URL went to some domain hijacker advert site Is this just temporary? I'm worried they might fall foul of something stupid like what happened when it was on site90...
johk Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) One way or another, you better don't think this is permanent. Just having a look to Prophpbb terms of service (http://www.prophpbb.com/terms.hml), the site could be deleted by inactivity and it hadn't too much since it began working under Prophpbb service. Cyker Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I was wondering what the feasibility of having it hosted/mirrored here or on people's webspace? I'd be willing to run it on mine! (Albeit with lots of instruction!!)
