khoopes Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 i have a windows 7, 64 bit system with 24 gigs of mem, and trying to run office 2003 on it. the weird thing is that office itself does run on windows but I can't do anything else with out the sytem acting really really slow. with outlook or word up. I can't open a folder without the system taking about 6 to 10 seconds before it does it. same as with trying to move a folder from one side of the screen to the other, again about 6 to 10 seconds. close 2003, and everything moves super fast. I can open anything in a instant, move it from one side to the next like it is flying. Open word or outlook and they go back to crowling really slow. I have 2003 up to sp3 and the patch required from the lawsuit on... anybody else having these problems. I have office 2010 on now and everything works super fast.. but the person wants office 2003, doesn't like change.
submix8c Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 (edited) "XP Mode" - It's a VHD (Virtual Hard Drive) of XP Pro that runs (pre-activated) ONLY on Windows 7 as a VM. Start Seven, start XP Pro (on the Virtual Machine), install O-2k3 on it and run from there.See this. Edited July 2, 2011 by submix8c
