clivebuckwheat Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 HiI am learning AD,I have installed active directory/first domain controller on a Windows 2008 server R2. I am able to login to the domain just fine. My next goal was to try and setup a home holder for a user and only make that folder accessible to that authenticated user with read and write rights. What I did was create a folder on my server called home and then in the Active directory administrative manager I used the connect to option under profile and did the following \\w2k8\home\JJonesWhen I login as JJones the drive doesn't map. Lastly this is a test server in a test environment as I am trying to learn AD.
Tripredacus Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 In addition to AD permissions you also need to set NTFS permissions on the folder. Can you confirm that this user has (at least) read permissions to the folder?
