Win XP SP3 Dutch cannot logon

Its been years since i've used this and i've run into an issue. The thing is that after windows has created the username (set in nlite) i get this. I did not remove any components, only some tweaking like removing the arrows on shortcuts, modify IE's maximum simultaneous downloads, ...

nlitelogon1.jpg

After i click ok i get routed back to the user selection screen.

If i then manually select the user again, logon is succesful. Where did i go wrong ?

I had that a few times but unfortunately, it was also a long time ago and I can't remember what the cause was. Few ideas;

-using nLite more than once on the same source (nLite assumes the source is original, especially suppressing/modifying/recreating non standard accounts is not supported).

-using same computername as owner name ??? (I know that one causes trouble and one is blank in your screenshot).

-bypassing the obligation to have an "eigenaar" for XP HOME, either through user creation or OOBE.

Please attach your Last sesion.ini and (removing personal data) last session_u.ini and state exactly what media you are starting with.

Edit; I think I remember now... I was integrating a french SP3 to an SP home and I never got it to work properly because of that problem. I ended up adding SP3 after Windows install. Not very proud of that obviously.

- Its an original that olready had sp3 in it

- computername is intentionally left blank to have setup create one. Do i need to set one ?

- I created a user "eigenaar" thats the thing, it should logon. Its not XP home, its XP Pro. Can ya explain the difference between user creation and "skip OOBE" ?

I don't have nLite in front of me and can't remember what "AdvTweaks" stands for (in your Last Session.ini).

Problem is, for any reason, your XP tries to autologon "Administrator" when that account doesn't exist on your machine (yours is named "Beheerder"). Did you change anything to that account ? Was it "Beheerder" out of the box ?

Speaking of "Out of the Box", if you do not skip OOBE (that is the part where XP asks you to create accounts and set up Internet connection), did you add any user (I can't remember if it is possible not to) ?

Can you check which accounts you end up with ?(in Mijn Computer /Eigenschappen/ Advanced/Gebruikers...???.).

Tried again.

I had modified Administartor to Beheerder myself. Reverted that change. Did create another user called "Eigenaar with "administartor" priviledges. Disabled "active" again for administrators

Adv tweaks probably refers to the "advanced" option you have on the normal "tweak" screen.

enabled "skip oobe". Was previously disabled but the useraccount was created, but think the "autologon" was off.

The weird thing was that with the problematic install the account "eigenaar" was created (i think, cant confirm this though. VMWare installation is already gone)

New VMWare setup is running atm.

So are you OK now ?

It is one thing to create an account through unattended section of nLite and an other to create one through OOBE. Enabling "Skip OOBE" equals disabling OOBE (you get me confused here writing "was previously disabled"). Users created through nLite remain created even past OOBE.

That was an issue. The user was set in nlite but i still got the user creation window during setup even though i set the mode to fully automated. The tweaks i did seemed to be working fin on an VM, so installed it on the rl system. So far its working and updating fine.

even though i set the mode to fully automated.

Fully automated/Unattended and OOBE are not exclusive (you can have both).

Well the tweaks worked. System is running fine, i wonder where the problem was. Probably somewhere with that "active" user option. Thanks for troubleshooting with me. For now this is [sOLVED]
