vinifera Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I have increased in registry size for icon cache db to 2 MBbut I see that it grew beyond thatthe Admin (default account) - which I don't use, has db of 2.6 MBand my account has 8.2 MB sizeis this.. bug or normal ?I'm not experiencing any Icon corruption yetbut shouldn't reg setting limit its size ?
GrofLuigi Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) Maybe your account has seen and enumerated many more icons? How did you restrict its size? I know of registry entry "Max Cached Icons" which restricts by number of icons. Then you'd need to take account of individual icon sizes...And, if the Admin acount is rarely used, it has definitely seen less icons. Try cleaning (deleting) both icon caches.GL Edited January 29, 2011 by GrofLuigi
vinifera Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) yes that one reg entrybeen digging on google few sites, some of them say that XP by default has max value of 500I set it up to 2048 valueI'll delete db's then and report back, but still it smells bad Edited January 29, 2011 by vinifera
GrofLuigi Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) As far as I know, it restricts the number of icons in the cache, not its size in kilo/megabytes.I once counted on a computer with many programs installed, it had around 500 icons. GL Edited January 30, 2011 by GrofLuigi
