lgreenjr Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I want to image a new Dell Windows 7 Pro pc and convert it to Windows XP Pro. I want to run Windows XP operating system. I have an XP image and I am unable to convert this Win 7 Pro machine to XP Pro. When I perform the Ghost Cast Server session and the session begins, it appears that the XP image is being copied over from the XP image on my server. The ghost cast server session completes and prompts me that image was completed successfully. I removed my "cd" from the the pc and bootup and Win 7 Pro is still on the XP pc. Why am I not able to get the image for the XP machine to copy over to my Win 7 pc? I want the Win 7 pc to convert to the Imaged XP. Thank you for your help.
Tripredacus Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Windows 7 has multiple partitions. If Win7 is still bootable, Ghost likely put the XP image into another partition, like the recovery partiton for example. Do you know that your XP image will work on this model?

After imaging a Bart PE disk the XP image is successful.
