gael043 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Hello,I have a problem with integrating update into Windows XP SP3 install cd. I tried to integrate update of Windows XP SP3 into its cd with nLite but when I reboot after the text installation, it say many error that come from the process "lsass.exe". The only error I have been able to read is "A write operation was attempted after the disc has been removed" (Traducted with Google, real error is "Une operation d'écriture à été tenté après que le disque ait été démonté.". My language is french and my installation cd too. I speak both English and French). All the update I have attempted was downloaded with "Windows Updates Downloader (WUD)". I am using VMware so I can try many thing. Please help me, I don't want to download a big amount of update every time I re-install (I will re-install many time for testing purpose). gael043
Guest Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Can you please attach your last session.ini?Doing a search on here for lsass.exe shows lots of hits for some updates causing that error. I suggest you visit the page in my signature and use only the updates listed there and not everything WUD downloads.Pay attention to the windows media updates as they can not be directly integrated using nLite --> Since you are using a french CD you will need to integrate them before running nlite. Using the command listed below.Integrate Usage: /integrate:path where path refers to the folder that contains the i386 folder.Example: C:\MyUpdatesFolder\WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB973540-x86-ENU.exe /integrate:C:\MyXPSource Edited January 10, 2011 by -X-
gael043 Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Here is my Last session file. A note has been attached at the end.gael043Last Session.ini
Ponch Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Because too often we have people working with previously modified CDs (going on with their updates) or worse, randomly downloaded (not to say "dubious" or "illegal") XP ISOs they have no idea what they really contains. Those two situations bring unsolvable errors. I prefer to get those possibilities out the way before solving your problem.
gael043 Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 I think I have an original (or a simple copy) it is the really the "original" but a working copy of it. I have a CD and an image. I have continued my research and it seem that is really an update but In the 86 updates I have, I don't know which. It seem To be a modification To the file "lsass.exe". I have moved all the updates files To "C:/updatesnlite/" thinking that a path error happaned when integrating (because In my session name, I have space). I Will try To find the bad updates by integrating one updates for each iso. I will make a list of non-working updates. I have already began the list because some error happened when nlite tried To integrate. So, I keep This post opened for people that think they know the problem. Oh and I have a valid serial key. I never use a crack for Windows, it is illegal.Gael043
Guest Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Gael, attached is a list of the updates you should have.updates-FRA-DEC2010.txtYou can do open a command prompt in the folder that contains your current set of updates and type "dir /b>updates.txt" (without the quotes) to get a list of what you have. Run a side by side comparison and you will see what you need to delete and what you need to add. You can use some comparison software for this if you like.BTW, today is patch Tuesday so there will be 1 or 2 updates released today. I will post what they are once I redo my page.

gael043 Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 I am currently integrating all the updates in the file you gave me but not the update that was added because I will try with it later. I had to download a big amount of update manually (more than 15). Some required genuine validation but I don't downloaded it because I am not using Windows XP on my computer (only in vmware). I will tell you if all update as been correctly integrated and everything work. I have a question for you; When I have the normal and enbedded update, which should I use? Normal or embedded? I am currently running with normal updates.Thanksgael043
gael043 Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 I don't understand what you mean by embedded. Is In Its name, "update KBXXXXXX embedded".I have maked the iso and the installation is successful but when trying To activate parametrer, BSOD 0xCF and never start properly, always reboot. What I missed? I Will try with the updates of tuesday.Gael043
Guest Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I've never seen updates with embedded in the name. I wouldn't use them.I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "when trying To activate parametrer, BSOD 0xCF and never start properly". What is activate parameter?

BSOD is Blue Screen Of Death.Gael043After the installation, system reboot and then activate the parameter of the first account available (My account). I have been able to boot in safe mode, the problem is probably a driver. With the search I made on the Microsoft database, the faulty driver is Win32k.sys. I don't know what it do exacly but I will disable it and try again. The error has been reported only on Printer server but I think the error is the same because the description of the error code and the problem described in the Microsoft Database is the same. I can't find any link explaining correctly the error but it is called BAD_POOL_CALLER. I am trying to find a way to copy the dump error code . I tried to run SFC checker (cmd > "sfc /scannow" and "sfc /scanonce") but it say that the RPC server is unavailable. I have been able to get the Code description from my ipod touch 4G with an applicaiton called "BSOD". Unfortunatly, the source has been deleted, so the only way to get the information is from my ipod.I will continue to find the missing update and correct this problem.Have a good day!gael043
