IdahoMan Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Since I received the updates on the 14th XP hangs for long periods of time- a minute or more between mouse clicks. The problem is remniscent of the svchost issue of a the 2007 timeframe. It's really any operation on the PC.I have Office 2007 on a 32bit XP. I am wondering if anyone else is noticing similar behavior? They released so many updates at once it is going to be a major PITA to pull them out to figure out which one is the culprit. dencorso Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Is anyone else here experiencing that issue?
IdahoMan Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Is anyone else here experiencing that issue?Mystery solved; one other thing happened to my PC on the same day the updates were installed. My TrendMicro PC-cillen subscription expired. After removing the key hotfixes I decided to remove the TrendMicro code next and it solved my problem. I'm using a different antivirus program now.I reinstalled all of the Microsoft hotfixes and it's back to its old rock solid self.I've shut down every unnecessary service and IE add-on and I always get a little nervous that an update will create a new dependency on something I've turned off.
