November 5, 201015 yr Hi! We have a temp linux machine. Inside it is Small business server 2003 running in VirtualBox. We now have a new server machine with Server 2008 R2. How do we migrate/transfer data/roles/settings to the new Server 2008 R2? I am not a linux guy. What is the least painful way to do it? Or, is there a way to do it at all?
November 5, 201015 yr Are you wanting to transfer the VM to the new server or have the new server take over the rolls?

November 5, 201015 yr What you will need to do is add the new server to the domain, install rolls and configure then promote the new server.
November 6, 201015 yr Author TY very much, Todarsey. As I am noob with server stuff, I guess I'll have to do some reading first. Thanks once again for pointing me to the right direction. If someone could post some links to web pages dealing with this stuff in a understandable way, I would appreciate it.
