Hi folks!

OK! here is the situation...I have a customer with a sick laptop Asus X55Sv with Vista Ultimate on it. The problem is the hard drive is failing and she has no repair cd's. I can see that it is an OEM Vista Ultimate but not if it is 64bit or 32bit..

Is there anyway to check the OEM license to see what it was issued to? Is there a file that will tell me what has been installed on the computer? I can get access via Linux boot cd...

If I can find out this info - then I can reinstall and activate her original license..

If you can get access to the filesystem offline, just check for the existence of \Program Files (x86)\ and/or \Windows\SysWow64\ - both of those will exist on x64, but will not on a properly installed x86 system. There are other ways, but that's the easiest.
