Unattended install of winrar 3.93 64bit + License file

Recommended Posts

I know winrar uses the /s silent install switch but how can I add my rarreg.key file into the Winrar Archive? So when I reinstall winrar, I wont have to add the license in there myself. The exe seems locked so I cant add the file through winrar. With the older versions there was a command in the comment box that you could just copy into your new Sfx archive and it would look the same as the Original. But this command doesnt seem to be visible anymore.

If you have the rarreg.key file in the same directory your installing winrar from it will self register.

Thanks but, is there a way to add it to the exe while keeping all the settings in the exe like where to install etc? I'm making a unattended disc of windows and I'm not sure where it puts the programs on the disc.

nm, I see now that your on W7 64bit. I'll leave the post in case an user with an older version of Windows finds it useful.

It puts it in Program Files\WinRAR. Use $OEM$ folders and put your key file in $OEM$\$Progs\WinRAR. You can also put a Settings.reg file there that it will use the first time it's run. Options > Import\Export > Export settings to a file.

I don't know how to modify the exe.

Are you using a program like RT Seven lite to build your unattended DVD?

If so which one? Surely it should be a simple matter to find where the

programs to be installed are placed.

Yeah I'm using RT 7 Lite. I thought it would be easy as well But I have searched through the whole dvd manually and using search and the files are not there. They most of been packed inside of a data pack file or something?

I'm not at all familiar with RT 7 Lite. Why don't you post a reply in the sticky

askiing your question.

Just put rarreg.key in a sfx:

;SFX-script

Path=%systemdrive%\Program Files\WinRAR
SavePath
Silent=1
Overwrite=1

Sorry about the late reply. Thank you so much, this worked perfectly :D I'll probably use this method for some other programs as well Saved me a hell of a lot of work :D
