graytest Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) I've been trying to add Intel's SATA drivers so that I can install Win XP.After choosing the driver(s) and hitting next nLite starts adding them. Before it is done I get the following message:"D- The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open. Please report this error if it's unexpected.Write your message in English and attach your 'Last Session.ini' if possible."What does it mean? nLite still says it added something (the size of the installation grew) but it doesn't work when trying to install (I get BSOD).Thanks for any help!*edit*So I've managed to attach the file this time (changed to the flash uploader).Last Session.ini Edited August 11, 2010 by graytest
johnhc Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 graytest, you should be able to attach your Last Session. Simply use the Browse button to find the file, select it, then click Upload. Your title is not very descriptive. It will be difficult for others to find your thread. You can edit your first post and alter the title to reflect the error. Now, I have not seen this message before, but I do see some problems. First you are running nLite under Vista (or W7) to create an ISO for XP. This can lead to problems especially if you integrate an Service Pack. You have not done so in this run, but if you have run nLite more than once against the same source, many problems can occur. Always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. I also see that you have included about all the Intel drivers know to man or woman. This is not necessary. Please see Fernando 1's thread above about Intel SATA/RAID drivers. I suggest you use his. He is the driver expert here. Enjoy, John.

The reason I added all drivers is because I tried with just the ICH9M/M-E driver at first but it didn't work (I've attached that session with this message). Since that is the controller I can find in device manager I assume that is the one I need the driver for.. but still didn't work so I tried using all of them. But I did get the same error when trying just the one driver so that could be the reason it didn't work. And yes, I am using Windows 7 and am trying to create a dual boot with Win XP.I've read the guide by Fernando and will try the drivers he link to (the ones I've used are extracted from Intel's executable).Last Session (2010.08.10-22.27.47).ini

I suspect there is something wrong with your driver. Thanks for the title change and the attached Last Session.ini. I also suspect you got a Stop 07B BSOD - inaccessible HDD. This is saying it is missing a boot critical driver (text mode). If you get this error again, please post a screen shot of the message. I Googled "user-mapped section open" and got lots of hits - please give a look. Perhaps it is a Permissions or UAC problem. Just another reason to run under XP, but you can try modifying the UAC and right click the file and give yourself full permissions. Enjoy, John.
Ponch Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Hello,There are known problems when people put their drivers on the desktop and integrate them from there, which is what you do. Try putting them in an other folder like C:\drivers\ or so.
