sinnerdragoon Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) So I have had this happen on three newish laptops lately a Compaq and 2 Dells. I create an nlite slipstream install cd for these computers and try to install the OS and I get the "setup did not find and hard disk drives installed on your computer." however when I use the factory cds that came with the computers there is no problem identifying the hard drive and installing. Do any of you know why this is happening? I know my nlite disk works be cause I tried it on an older computer and it had no issues. the first Dell I tried slip-streaming the windows vista that it came with and it did the same. then I tried installing XP on it and yet again no hard drive found. the second dell came with XP on it and and did the same and the compaq I am working on right now has vista but the person wants XP on it. the compaq is a Presario c500. and the first dell is an inspiron 1525. Thank you. Edited August 8, 2010 by sinnerdragoon
Kelsenellenelvian Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) #1 please change your title. (It's a very non-suggested title)#2 Ask a mod to move this to the nLite section, where it belongs.#3 You have to add the SATA, txtmode, drivers to the disk.Edit:Presario c500** C500 what? there are a handfull of these models please provide the service tag.
