utkarsh.bisht Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 After installing windows 7 to Intel 946 GZ motherboard, i found sound is not working on it despite of showing successful installation of driver of HD audio codec. Is there any way to correct this problem????
cluberti Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 If you open the Sound control panel, which device is listed as the Default playback device?
puntoMX Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Windows will install the standard WDM HD drivers, those won't work with Realtek or SigmaTel most of the time. In your case you have the SigmaTel soundchip so download this and unpack, not install, the .EXE package with winRAR or similar, point Windows to that directory when you upgrade the driver.Post back when it worked please.
pankaj Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi......you have to check which is you deafault playback device and then otherwise you can do this also.... All you have to do is restart into Safe Mode and then do your driver install from there. You see, in Safe mode, all the microsoft stuff that stops things from working, is not loaded, so your install will be successfull. Then just reboot normally.
