gildan2020 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) Hi guys,I used nLite to create an Unattended winxp CD and everything works except for the NetAdapter1 section. It seems as though my NetAdapter1 presets were not applied after installation is complete.When the installation is completed and Winxp started correctly, I had to go to the Control Panel -> Network Connections to manually configure the Local Area Connection's IP addresses (pls take note that the internet connection is fine after that).I'm kinda new to nLite so I hope you can help me on this. If you need any other info, pls let me know.[Main]Env = 1.4.9.1 - 2.0.50727.1433.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3Target = Windows XP Professional SP3 - 5.1.2600.5512 - English (United States)[Tasks]Service Pack IntegrationRemove ComponentsUnattended SetupIntegrate DriversTweaksOptions[Components];# Applications #GamesInternet GamesPinball;# Network #MSN ExplorerWindows Messenger;# Compatibility #Compat01Compat02Compat03Compat04Compat06Compat07Compat08Compat09Compat11Compat13Compat14Compat15Compat16[KeepFiles]msconfig.exe[RemoveFiles]clock.aviyahoo.bmpswtchbrd.bmp[Options]ProfilesDir = "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings"TargetPath = "WINDOWS"temp_dir = %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp[Patches]TcpIp = 16777215[Services2][Tweaks][Unattended]NoPassExpSpecUnattendMode = 1ComputerType = AutomaticOOBEOffResolution = 1680x1050BitsPerPel = 32 bit (True Color)Vrefresh = 60 HzDisableSRestoreMaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 12RestorePointLife = 30DesktopTheme = Default||AutoUpdates = 4AutoUDay = 5AutoUHour = 15ProgFilesPath = "\Program Files"CustomNetwork[NetAdapter1]connname = ""macaddress = ""ipaddress = "192.168.0.3"subnetmask = "255.255.255.0"defaultgateway = "192.168.0.1"dnsserver1 = "8.8.8.8"dnsserver2 = ""winsserver = ""netbiossetting = "0"ipxnetworknumber = "00000000"ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF"[GuiRunOnce][Drivers]C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\All\2008s4el.inf,0C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\197.45_desktop_winxp_32bit_english_whql\NV4_DISP.INF,0C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\WinXP2003_32\l1e51x86.inf,0C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\WDM\HDA.inf,0[Hotfixes] Edited June 20, 2010 by gildan2020
Ponch Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I never used that option but I think you need to fill in the macaddress for the device to be recognised as "NetAdapter1". I hope someone will confirm.

I hope someone will confirm.gildan2020, Ponch is correct. If you look at the help text on that tab, you will see this explained. Unfortunately there are several things that do not work correctly in this function. There are several threads about the specific problems, including one with my contributions. I have found that to make the options work properly, I had to edit the winnt.sif file after running nLite but before an ISO is created to implement my configuration. The nLite author/owner (nuhi) has been asked to correct these problems but is currently on hiatus and I, for one, am not expecting any updates - thus the editing of winnt.sif. gildan2020, next time please attach (not paste) your Last Session. Good luck, John.
gildan2020 Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 thanks guys, i've just made a comparison with the winxp deployment tool Setupmgr and there are some differences with nlite.I'm going to try to put in those differences into my winnt.sif and see how it goes. thanks again.
