hello i hope some one out there has the answer to this as i am pulling out my hair .

heres the problem.

hp tx2500 tablet notbook . was given to me after a few features stopped working the lad asked if i could reinstall the os and redo the drivers.

i thought simple as just stick xp pro on it . well that failed . install failed at the point where it restarts went to blue screen . so i tried installing the os on the hd in another machine then transfering it back that wouldnt boot either .

so i tried vista the original os for that machine. it runs in to install all the way to completing instalation and just hangs. i have tried making a vlite os with the hp drivers for the laptop incase it was missing something . ( not sure if i did this vlite thing right to be fair was first time trying it ) once the machine hangs i have also tried just rebooting and then it goes to the vista loading screen and hangs.

i have had the hd out and installed vista in another laptop and loads in fine so i dont susspect a problem with the hd. after that i tried different ram removing wireless card and also the cd drive incase there was some kind of hardware problem. nothing i am trying is working any ideas guys would be greatly appriciated .

cheers ben

Note: this topic will be moved to Vista Unattend of vLite depending on further information.

The XP install likely failed because (I am guessing) the BIOS is set for AHCI drive type instead of IDE.

How much memory is in this tablet?

If you have the ability to boot the tablet with an NTFS friendly source like WinPE or NTFSDOS, you can find setupact.log in the Panther folder. It may not tell us what is wrong, but it should have logged the last thing it was doing before it locked up.

One last thing, when Vista freezes as you say, does the animation still go or does that stop too?
