problem with Windows Update

Hi:

I am running Windows Xp Pro with SP3 and all updates as of today.

I am al;so blind, and multiply disabled and use a mouthstick to type.

When I go to turn off the computer the same 4 updates that have already been installed keep wanting to be installed on my system again.

I went into to Control Panel > Security, and changed Automatic Update to notify me only, and to now download or install updates.

Somewhere on my ystem there must be a setting that needs to be changed to not install the same updates again, and to get rid of the update icon when you go to shutdown the computer next to "Turn Off"

I do not know what the 4 updates are becuse I cannot find a way of viewing their descriptions, but I am sure they are the same 4 that have been installed already.

Is there a way to clear the notification when you go to shut down the computer, and to get rid of any other not needed information?

Thanks,
