torchlord Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Well ive been trying my darndest to get a xp sp3 with additional service packs slipstreamed. I havent removed any of the files to make it a "light version" of xp. I did have one success when i just installed xp home cd with the service pack 3 cd by themselves, and it worked, but what ever i did to get that working i havent a clue. Ok so here is my last session notpad file. This xp i has a write operation/ paging file quata etc...error and says its being dismounted just before its starts to install xp. Its really hard to read the full error code windows gives me cause it only displays for like a second and is rebooting. Note im using virtual box to test the iso image that i burned onto a cd. I havent yet tried to boot this into a real computer yet.LAST SESSION.INI
johnhc Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 torchlord, several problems here. First you are running nLite under Vista (or W7) to create an ISO for XP. This is not going to work if a Service Pack is integrated. You are also including updates for IE8 and WMP11 and you have included neither. Can you run under XP? Enjoy, John.

GrofLuigi Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Hi,Some potential problems I see:- Integrating a service pack under Windows 7 (there were many reports of failure, although some succeeded).- C:\Users\Public\windows hotfixes\NDP20SP2-KB974417-x64.exe is not suitable (64-bit).- Also check IE8 hotfixes (where is IE8 itself installed?). I think it was mentioned that IE8 cannot be installed in the form provided by Microsoft - addon is recommended. Sorry, I don't use IE, so I cannot be more accurate. Hope someone else will step in.- Why so many network adapters?GL
