broconne Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Been using nLite with windows XP for a little bit and really enjoying it so far. I am having a little problem with one installation I have made. I seem to be missing the BDA or Broadcast Driver Architecture subsystem.. I have searched the forum and can't find anything indicating what installs that?I have two questions.1) What installs BDA?2) Is there anyway to install BDA after installing XP without it?
johnhc Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 broconne, I can't answer you question, but if you will attach your Last Session, as requested in bold RED above, we will take a look. A little searching on Google and in my source folder (XP x64), I find bda.inf and bdasup.sys. These may be the driver and .inf files you are looking for. There may also be more files needed. You will need to look at the .inf and see what is copied. In my folder, the bda.inf is compressed into BDA.IN_ and will need to be expanded (decompressed). The .sys is found in my SP2.cab. Do a search on your source folder for files *bda* and see what you find. Not sure what of them are really needed. BTW, I hope you understand that nLite is for personal use only and cannot be used in a business. Enjoy, John.
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 According to Wikipedia, BDA is a part of Windows Driver Model (WDM) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Driver_Model , so it's possible you have removed something. Follow johnhc's advice and attach the Last Session.ini
