Hi guys I need help,

Search option in windows explorer has been vanished. See this screenshot:

And when I hit Window+F I got this:

Please suggest a solution guys.

start control panel, go to programs and click on "turn Windows Function on or off" and make sure that the Windows- Search is checked and installed.

It was checked and installed, and when I uncheck and hit ok I got this:

copy the file "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't open it) and open it with notepad. Now search for errors. Which errors do you see?

The log is too big to be uploaded here. So I have copied the logs when I last time attempted to rectify the problem from the control panel as suggested by you.

Please help me brother.

Hi, you get the error:

HRESULT = 0x80073701 - ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING

which means a file from WinSxS folder is missing. have you used vLite RT 7 Lite and removed components?

yeah I have trimmed my OS with vlite.

But the problem was not there earlier. The problem started after some days of installation.

BTW now How can I know which file is missing and how can I rectify this problem????????????????

Redoing is another issue, I would do later on but what should I do with current installed OS???????????? As it was not not like this when I installed this OS, can I upgrade my OS to same windows 7 Ulitmate?????????

I just hate reinstalling all the applications again and again.

The main issue is can we upgrade to the same OS like I am on Windows 7 Ultimate and there is a little problem in the OS and I would like to upgrade my OS to the same windows 7 ultimate. Is it possible to Upgrade to the same OS i.e Windows 7 Ultimate??????
