Eagle710 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I have created a new system to create my wim files on. I have installed the WAIK 7 and when I try and mount a working or even the original winpe.wim file I get Error 5: General Access denied error. Any Ideas why this is happening?Attached you will find the simple DISM log file.dism.txt
Tripredacus Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 A few things, 1. Make sure you are using DISM from the Windows PE Tools Command Prompt, and not the regular command prompt.2. make sure you have full control permissions on the directory your MOUNT folder is in, as well as the location of the WIM file you mounted.3. Make sure to run the prompt in #1 as Administrator. It looks like you are running this on Vista right?

I am running the Special command prompt and states that it is updating the path to include the dism and so on.2. I am an administrator on the system and the admins have full access to all files.3. Yes I do right click and select to run as admin. This is WAIK 7 on a Vista image. It starts to mount on one file it get to 5% on the winpe.wim original file it gets to 12%. Any other ideas?
Eagle710 Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 I determined that my Virus application on the system was preventing me from mounting the image. Pesky virus apps.
