Slipstream WinXP + SP3 + raid drivers under Win7

I want to create a slipstream that includes WinXP + SP3 + RAID driver. Many articles that describe the process use nLite (for instance, http://www.maximumpc.com/article/howtos/how_to_slipstream_windows_xp_sp3_and_vista_sp1)

OK, but in my case, I need to create the WinXP slipstream while running under Win 7 Ultimate.

So, would I still need to use nLite? Does nLite work under Win7? And would I still need a 3rd part ISO utility like IsoBuster, since (I think) Win 7 now has native ISO reading/burning?

Thanks,

Welcome to MSFN. One way is you create a virtual machine with WinXP as an OS and use it to create a slipstreamed CD. The thing is, for best practice, that nLite works best under XP, so could use nLite in the virtual machine. After that, there are ways to extract the ISO from the VM.

Well, duh! I already have two instances of Virtual PC running under my Win 7 system. I use them to test web apps against IE 6 and IE 7, since you can't have multiple copies of IE on the same system. But there's no reason I can't use one of them to create my slipsteam also.

Thanks for the suggestion!
