ojdon Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Hey there, I'm just wondering does removing components with Vlite actually speed up the Operating System (Windows 7 Specifically) or does it just used to reduced the space taken up by the OS? My second question is would my activation key still be legal if I use Vlite to remove stuff from the Windows 7 installation files. Thanks!
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) I'd say it's more freeing up space than speeding up. If you need speeding up, you could probably do some tweaks, like turn off Services you personally don't use. As to the product key, it will accept it and activate, as long as you don't remove files needed for activation, like OOBE in XP.Welcome to MSFN and enjoyEdit: you will also like this Edited March 19, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt
ojdon Posted March 19, 2010 Author Posted March 19, 2010 Thanks for answering my questions, I was just wondering since I didn't want to waste a activation key. Anyway, best get tweaking!
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 (edited) Well, use a virtual machine to test the install. You can use the key, but you won't have to activate. That way, you can make it perfect for your needs. Edited March 19, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt
