Dzuro Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Hi!How can I add Language Interface Pack (LIP) using nLite? I want to have all Windows XP in Slovenian languge. I have the CD with all the necessarily files, but how can i add them into win xp? And how can i add various programs (winzip, winrar, acrobat reader...) with nLite?Salute!
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Well, you can add programs using add-ons (packs that install programs during windows setup) or you can install them silently through RunOnce. Also, look at the Unnatended Guide, the "Application Add-ons" sub-forum in nLiteAs for adding LIP... I don't remember anyone asking about this. Most people already have XP CDs in their own language. Wait around for others to answer, but if it is impossible, it could still be possible to copy the contents of the LIP CD on the XP CD ($OEM$) and install it silently.
johnhc Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 This thread got my curiosity up, so I did some searching. LIP is the same as MUI (Multilanguage User Interface). BTW, if my train goes completely off the track and into the ditch, someone please rescue me. MUI is not sold Retail, only to VLK holders. The MUI for XP is 6 CDs. One is a normal English copy of Windows XP and the others contain the languages. Executing MUISetup.exe on any of the CDs will get the process of installation started. There are silent, unattended methods available, as well as the capability to install from a Command Prompt. I assume this means that it could be integrated with the install or through the nLite Unattended RunOnce exit. Please see here and here for more information. Dzuro, please remember that the nLite license allows only personal use. Enjoy, John.
