Installer Hidden Partition Mod and some ideas

Featured Replies

I have 2x Acer Aspire One and 1x Lenovo S10-2 netbooks. They all have hidden partitions from which they execute windows installation when its triggered by special button or key combination during boot process. Is it possible to edit these installations in way nLite is doing so with CD installations and upgrade / configure / add addons, drivers etc.?

I also thought that it would be very nice to replicate this netbook feature to desktops - only triggering could be established by specially made USB boot key with special boot loader settings [grub for instance]. Could this be done or does this feature already exists?

-Partition image or "sysprepped" image cannot be edited with nLite, only standard "Windows XP" install cd can be.

-You can probably edit those images with other tools, but to have them put back in the good place and ready for deployment is certainly not easy (and is not related to this subforum). There are some thread about making own recovery partitions, I don't know if they still open or succesfull.

-for install from usb drive, check the "install from usb" forum.
