jeihsin1 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 (edited) Greetings! After installing the drivers of my M-Audio USB device, the icon in my taskbar won't show. It also reads "not connected" in the settings. After many attempts, I cannot figure out which components I need to keep for it to work properly.I use my desktop for gaming (not online), internet (no networking), and music production. Any other additional help would be greatly appreciated! Attached in my nLite LastSession.INI file. Thanks in advance!Last_Session.ini Edited February 12, 2010 by jeihsin1
GrofLuigi Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Hi jeihsin1 and welcome!I would suspect one or more of the following (in order of suspiciousness):Sound ControllersPortable AudioOld CDPlayer and Sound Recorder (the systray icon)Application compatibility patchMultifunctional (not very likely)Command-line tools (not likely)GL
jeihsin1 Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 I unchecked those, reinstalled and it still didn't work.
johnhc Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 jeihsin1, please look in your device manager and see if you have any 'yellow bangs'. These are the warnings that a driver is missing. If you find any, please post a screen shot of the device manager screen. To get to the Device manager, right click My Computer, click Manage and select Device Manager. I also suspected Removal Storage but only one of GrofLuigi's list. I am also suspicious of all the Services you have removed, but can't point to a good candidate. You may have to go into try and test mode - removing about half of your changes and see if it works. I assume you are always starting with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. Enjoy, John.
GrofLuigi Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 OK, basic troubleshooting: does it work in non-nLited (full) Windows installation? What does Event Log (or any other log) say?GL
