Some programs interfaces do not appear correctly

I nlited an install and now some windows programs are not displaying their GUI correctly. Namely Game Booster and MyDefrag. Anyone have any suggestions to componets I need to update/reinstall to get these GUIs displaying correctly? I included my preset.ini.

Edit: LAST_SESSION.INI is my correct preset, nlite_preset.ini was the original that I used as a jumping off point.

Orion7, is this a really old nLite created Windows? Your Last Session shows nLite version Env = 1.0 RC6. I have never even heard of anything this old. The current version of nLite is 1.4.9.1 (please get it here) and should be the one you use. Can you redo your installation? Enjoy, John.

Thank you for the reply. I apologize for the confusion I should of double checked my .ini before posting it. I grabbed that preset from the internet but loaded it up into nLite 1.4.9.1 and modified Windows XP SP3. Here is the correct .ini file grabbed from my installation cd.

For your problem, in order of "suspiciousness":

Visual Basic 6 runtime

OpenGL Support

Extra Fonts

Command-line tools

Some other potential issues:

NoKeepCp (I don't know if this is 'keep code pages of removed languages' checked or unchecked; I would keep the CPs in any case)

DefaultThemesOff (don't know what GUI option is this)

I don't know if this has any significance:

ProgFilesPath = "C:\Program Files"

(in my .ini it's

ProgFilesPath = "\Program Files")

Another potential discrepancy: you integrate motorola driver, but remove modem support? If that's a modem, I think there will be problems...

Some other things I wouldn't remove:

Ethernet (LAN)

Wireless Ethernet (WLAN)

Logical Disk Manager

And what's with the updates hotfixes? It seems like you're integrating unpacked exes, you shouldn't do that. Or you renamed the hotfixes? Or there's some other method I don't know about? (It's possible).

*Edit: another word of caution: you're processing on Windows 7 (I think). While I don't think any problems have been reported so far with normal Nlite processing on Vista and above (as opposed to confirmed problems with XP SP integration and/or Windows activation), one might never know...

Orion7, I agree with what GrofLuigi has to say, except I am not familiar with the components and their possible effect on your problem. Running nLite under W7 to create an XP ISO can be a problem, especially if you integrate a Service Pact. Did your original CD come with SP3 or did you integrate it? The most glaring thing I see is the .exe and .ini files in your Hot Fix section. As GrofLuigi pointed out these do not look like MS updates and I don't think nLite even accepts an .ini file. Did you get any error messages running nLite? You should get no errors running nLite or during install.

I don't know if this has any significance:

ProgFilesPath = "C:\Program Files"

It looks like this comes from your old DLed Last Session. I don't know what it will do, but absolute paths are not a good idea in general, so it should be changed back to the default. You might consider using the old Last Session as a guide and not just use it as a preset. This would mean manually completing the entries and avoiding the ones that don't look correct (as the path one). Please let us know what the things are in your Hot Fix section, if you get any errors and if you can run nLite under XP. If you must use W7 and are not adding an SP, then please run nLite in XP Compatibility Mode (right click nLite.exe, go to properties, Compatibility tab and set the Mode to Windows XP.) Enjoy, John.
