pierre007 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 After I select the correct SATA text mode driver and click next, I am asked "do you want to start the proccess"? I click yes and see "preparing selected tasks" then I get an error dialog box titled P(1) 11 which says patch error occured, check if one of the add-ons is overwriting one of these files with non-original files: uxtheme.dll, syssetup.dll tcpip.sys and usbport.sys. The last session.ini file shows no errors.I am using original WinXP Pro as source and all I am doing is adding the SATA textmode driver, no updates or service packs. I am working on a Dell 1520 laptop with fully updated Vista.
johnhc Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 pierre007, I have not seen this error before. Running nLite under Vista to create an ISO for XP is a problem sometimes, especially when you integrate a Service Pact. Can you run under XP? So, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
pierre007 Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 I was able to work with a computer with WinXP Pro installed and managed to get a bootable CD. My next question is, do I need to integrate SP1a or can I go directly to SP2. Per Microsoft website, SP2 is for WinXP or Win XP Sp1a which inplies SP2 can be applied without first doing SP1a.
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Apply SP2 with no fear, as any service pack is cumulative and contains everything previously released. I would even recommend SP3. It's still a good idea to create your CD on XP as a host OS. If you use search in the forum, you will find plenty of posts with users' experiences on their integration of service packs.Enjoy
