Hello ppl. I have a problem with a nlited WinXp, I have never had before. For to purpose I'm using WinXpSp2 OEM disk. And the things i do is to integrate SP3 + some security updates. Everything go's well with the install but after the windows is installed it get stuck at the black screen "Please wait" before the OOBE. Can some1 please help me? Btw i'm using nlite 1.4.9.1.

With older versions of the program i didn't have any problems. Maybe i need to try with older version!?

catsado, I assume you are using nLite 1.4.9.1. If so, this is exactly the version you should be using. So, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.

This is not your problem but you cant slipstream WindowsMedia updates directly with nLite if you are not upgrading to WMP 11.

D:\Sata + WinXpSp3\Updates\Critical Updates\WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB952069-v2-x86-ENU.exe

D:\Sata + WinXpSp3\Updates\Critical Updates\WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB954155-x86-ENU.exe

D:\Sata + WinXpSp3\Updates\Critical Updates\WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB968816-x86-ENU.exe

D:\Sata + WinXpSp3\Updates\Critical Updates\WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB973540-x86-ENU.exe

You have to use the svcpack method by running the integrate command and then run nLite with the rest of the things.

Integrate Usage: /integrate:path where path refers to the folder that contains the i386 folder.

Example: C:\MyUpdatesFolder\WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB973540-x86-ENU.exe /integrate:C:\MyXPSource

If you don't use this method, nLite will mistakenly slipstream the WMP 11 binaries instead of the WMP 9 ones.

catsado, the big problem is that you are running nLite under Vista/W7 to create an ISO for XP. This is not going to work if you include a Service Pack. Probably the easiest way to include WMP11 is to install WMP11 Slipstreamer (search these forums) in your host, then place the WMP11 installer (from MS DL Site) and updates into the hot fix section. One method of running nLite under XP - since you have VPC installed - is to install XP on your VM and run nLite there. Enjoy, John.

Tnx to all who helped. -X- was right. Those 4 updates were the problem. I didn't included them in the CD and all is fine now.

johnhc tnx for your advice too. I'm using Vista Ult 64x but I didn't have a problem like some other ppl when including a sp.

I really like this forum. It's a lot of help for ppl and a spring of knowledge. This is my first topic but in my free time I'm reading the forum :).

Interesting. If I'm recalling correctly, I've slipstreamed 3 of those updates in the past and didn't have a problem. I never thought that could be your problem. This calls for a test on a VM.

Finally got around to testing in a VM. I slipstreamed the problem WindowsMedia updates and setup completed properly. I suspect there's something else going on.

Edit: I just thought of something. OOBE has that splash screen and it plays a sound. Since WMP is messed up and cant play the sound that's why it's getting stuck. I skipped OOBE on my test run.
