BenWelch Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Hello,I am having trouble with every windows installation that i have slipstreamed with nlite. I have slipstreamed both store bought copies of windows XP Home Edition SP2 and Dell Windows XP Home Edition SP2. Both have slipstreamed seamlessly. However, every time I reinstall windows (from either cd) I get an invalid cdkey error. Does anybody know why I am getting this error. I put the cd key in the components section (I think, where ever the place for it is) so that I do not have to write it onto the cd or anything.
Kelsenellenelvian Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Are you slipstreaming under windows vista or 7?

[userData]ProductKey="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"I assume you already checked for typos. Does yours match this sample and still fail. Edited November 26, 2009 by MrJinje
BenWelch Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 (edited) Yes it does and at first I slipstream from Windows Vista Ultimate SP2. Then I did it from Windows Home Server OEM SP2EDIT: I have also done this with Windows XP SP3 Edited November 30, 2009 by BenWelch
Kelsenellenelvian Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Thats going to be your issue then.
BenWelch Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) I do not understand sir. Could you please provide an explanation? Edited November 30, 2009 by BenWelch
johnhc Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 BenWelch, in your first post, you said, 'when you reinstalled', your key was not accepted. What do you mean by reinstall? And, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
Ponch Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Again,... does that key work with that XP disc before you slipstream SP3/use nLite ? (Please don't answer "of course, it is a legit key" as that is not my question).
BenWelch Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 @johnhcMy bad, I am not familiar with all the technical terms but I reformatted my hard drive and installed the slipstreamed copy of Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3. @PonchWow I feel like an id***. I just tried installing Windows Xp from the origonal disk that I have been trying to slipstream and it rejected the key that came with it.Sorry for wasting your time guys
