Nero 8 problems

I am using Nero 8.3.17.0 with a LG GH22NS50 dvd recorder. When I try to burn a dvd, I get the following message:

pma update failure

could not perform end of disc-at-once

burn process failed

I used Sony DVD-R media. LG claims it is the software and Nero blames LG. So I appear to be stuck with headaches.

I would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance.

A log file would be helpful.

What type of disc were you burning, a data dvd, image file to dvd, etc?

What are the specs of the system? OS, RAM, CPU?

Have you tried using other burning programs like ImgBurn, InfraRecorder, CDBurnerXP, etc?

Could be the LG drive does not like the Sony DVD-R media, might need to update firmware or buy different media.

I was trying to backup a move (video_ts folder) to dvd. I use XP Pro with all the latest updates, 4 gig ram, Core 2 Duo E8400. I installed the latest fiirmware for the drive. I can burn Verbatim DVD+R's with no problem. The drive used to burn Sony as well but now I am lucky if I get one out of five coreect. I will give ImgBurn a try. I have never heard of the other two.
