I get net 2.0 errors with clean install OS. I get a one page of errors. These errors only occur when trying to launch nlite. I get the exact same error with win2000 and winXP. I have tried both the lite version of net 2.0 available at nlite website and the full microsoft version. I have tried nlite version 1.35 then the newer 1.49. Below is part of the error:

#Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException

Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

using .net runtime 2.0.50727.42

created with .net runtime 2.0.50727.42

Here are some of my guess:

1) net 2.0 installs in the wrong directory?!

2) further components are needed for proper net 2.0 install

3) newer versions of nlite do not recognise net 2.0

I have been sucessfull in past. See this thread... http://www.msfn.org/board/edit-nlite-t139087.html

joe sixpack, always use the latest version of nLite (1.4.9.1). How did you do your clean install of XP? Is it up to date (SP3, etc)? If you used nLite to create it, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Please post a link of where you got .NET and a screen shot of one error message. Enjoy, John.

EDIT: Where did you get your copy of Windows XP? Is it retail, OEM or what? Many, perhaps 1000s of people run nLite without .NET problems, so something is suspicious in your setup. Please do some searching here for the few that have had .NET problems.

1) No, else you wouldn't get .Net runtime errors.

2) Depends on what .Net distribution you've got installed. Try one of the installers below, they work for sure.

3) Oh, they do. Maybe your source isn't that clean? Or has too many component stripped out with nLite?
