I hope johnhc won't mind if I answer.

tchjgangel: yes, if you select a component in photo1, it will hide several sub-components in photo2. They won't be shown at all, so you won't be able to remove them. It's not 1:1 relationship, it might hide several components in several places. This is internal to NLite.

About photo3, if you select several items in the language group, they will all be kind of 'preinstalled' in Windows. Later, if you change from one to another of them, Windows will not ask for installation CD. I don't know if there are any other consequences.

tchjgangel, I have not used the Language Group and am on a machine without nLite right now and cannot take a look. I would like to point out two sources: the nLite web site (includes Chinese language Guide) and the help text in various pages. I don't see one on your language group picture, but when a ? in a circle is available, please click on it for more information. When I get a chance to look closer I will let you know. Enjoy, John.

In fact, the main problem is the picture one.

I mainly want to express that. For example, 'printers (local, network and pdf)' What does it mean? What role play? Represents what function? Can not be removed? After removing what kind of results?

I need an image one, the various components of the annotation.

tchjgangel, if I understood your question,

The function in Photo1 is a wizard, to help you KEEP the components which would otherwise be removed in Photo2. Photo1 doesn't do anything, just hides the components in Photo2 from your sight while you work with NLite, so you can not remove them by mistake. The exact mapping (for example, which components would be hidden in Photo2 if you select "Cameras and Camcorders" in Photo1) is known ony to the author of NLite, Nuhi. Many mappings could be determined by experimentation, but I think that would serve no practical purpose. The intention of Photo1 is to protect you from yourself. If you know that you will need that functionality on the computer after the NLited disc is installed, you should check it in Photo1.

Many people in the past reported that, for example, if they removed some component in Photo2, some months after the installation of Windows, they couldn't install that Windows component (or driver). And they asked how to add it later (after Windows is installed), but that is not always possible.

For example, if you check "Printers..." in Photo1, you are protected from removing Windows printing support (and many built-in Windows printer drivers). If you later (after installation of Windows) connect a printer to your computer, it will be able to install the driver. If you don't check it, and remove some component in Photo2 related to printers, you might not be able to use a printer. Same goes for other components.

So, checkmark in Photo1 keeps, checkmark in Photo2 removes.

tchjgangel, here is some Language Group information I copied from the ref.chm file. There is a link to MS with more information on Language Groups. The file is found in the deploy.cab in the Tools folder of the Support folder on your install CD. You can look in this file and deploy.chm after you extract the deploy.cab file.

For your latest question, I recommend you do some experimenting. Check nothing on the Compatibility page, then go into the Remove Components and take some screen shots of the various sections. Click Back (or Cancel to start over) and come back into the Capability page and check one (such as Cameras and Camcorders) and then continue into the Remove Components and compare the various sections to the screen shots you took. You should see some components missing now. These are being protected from being removed. Enjoy, John.

Comments You cannot specify a particular locale or language unless you install the appropriate language group.

In Windows XP, if you install one language group, then you install all corresponding language groups. For example, if you install one language group from the set of East Asian language groups, then you also install associated language groups. Likewise, if you install one language group from the set of complex script language groups, then you install all complex script language groups.
