banjovibes Posted October 9, 2009 Share Posted October 9, 2009 Hi guysI have a problem here i dont know if anyone will be able to help, i mistakenly put the wrong power cable 19v instead of 12v on my seagate external disk, now the disk is not spinning or anything, there is no smell coming out or any rattling sound coming from the harddisk, i have tried everything possible, taking the disk out of the casing and connecting it as a slave inside a pc still nothing is happening, the data on the disk is very valuable and i desparately want itthe specifications on the disk are as follows.500gb seagate barracuda 7200.10s/n 9qg3aymwst 3500630ap/n 9bj046-567firmware 3.aafdate code 08053 site code tki woul be very graetful if someone would helpthanks in advance Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ponch Posted October 9, 2009 Share Posted October 9, 2009 the data on the disk is very valuableif it means as much as buying a new drive, then your best bet is to do it (same model exactly) and swap the circuit board.You might first try to get the drive out of the enclosure and test it directly in a pc as an internal drive.
