.ry
Hi! I'm and old nLite user. Now I'm using the last version 1.4.9.1.I'm writing here because I have some strange problems.I've done a lot of nlite win xp CDs in the last year, but no one was perfect. The last one was simply:Win XP SP2 (base)+ SP3+ drivers SATA for ICH10/MCP55 (so I can use this on my pc and my brother's one)Result:1. Invoking Sticky Keys by pressing 5 times SHIFT key will pop-up window of sticky keys BUT clicking on "Settings", the window disappears and I can't disable Sticky keys (I have to do it by registry).2. In system32 there is no trace of sound related files, like sndrec32.exe and sndvol32.exe.In another CD, without languages and with a lot of drivers:1. Impossible to use default windows theme, while rebooting the system changes default theme into the "Luna Theme".In another one, I was not able to use 3D acceleration: every game or application had visual problems like arctifacts or freezes. But there was no hardware problem! In every CD created by nLite I've found others minimal bugs. Why It happens? Only to me?
Ponch
You're probably not running nLite on a standard "Microsoft Windows XP SP2" installation disk. And if you do, you probably do it more than once which often is not a good idea, depending on the used options. For in depth analysis, please attach (not paste) your Last session.ini file so we have something to chew on. Cheers.
strel
Be careful too about trimming components too much, with nlite is very easy to overcome the limits of stability, and it's poor documented in order to avoid this kind of things happen. strel
Always do it in one step with a fresh source.
johnhc
.ry, your symptoms sound like you have run nLite more than once on the same source. strel is correct and further, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
