Irongrip Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Is it possible to install the single instance storage service on xp pro?If so how? I have access to an Windows Service disk. Which files should i copy and install to get the neat SiS Groveler on XP pro?IMHO MS should have put SiS on XP pro themselves. Can anyone help me?
jaclaz Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 The SIS groveler is a feature of the "Server" version of MS Windowses, AFAIK.You cannot have it "independently", thus you would need a license for the server version. My guess is that the Server 2003 SIS can be actually installed on XP, if you manage to install the whole RIS:http://www.windows-xp-services.com/windows...e-groveler.htmlBut I don't think it will be an easy task, if possible at all.Sorry for not being of help.jaclaz
