shiarua Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I got a new phone over the summer (LG Incite CT810). It has Windows Mobile 6.1 on it. The ROM flashing util from LG is only designed to work on Windows XP. I tried flashing the devices ROM in Windows Vista and it did not work. I then switched to my brother's machine (which has Windows XP on it) and was able to flash the ROM with no problem. I have since upgraded to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (RTM) and have been messing around with Windows XP mode. I installed ActiveSync 4.5 on the Virtual Machine and was able to connect to the device successfully via USB. I'm trying to figure out if I can use the flashing util to flash the ROM through Windows XP mode in a virtual environment. Attempting to do so would put my device into a emergency download state from which I cannot seem to get out of and if it fails, I might brick the phone.Would anyone recommend against trying to flash the ROM on the phone from a Windows XP virtual machine? Has anyone experience with this?
Access Denied Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) I could not get my phone to be recognized in the Virtual XP that you can get on Windows 7 Pro. Edited September 2, 2009 by Access Denied
