Ponch Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 There are a lot of results when googling "CDBOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code:5", maybe you need to burn at lower speed. Is that (old) drive able to read the whole CD apart from booting it ? You didn' t happen do burn a DVD did you ?
pokeseeker Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 Yes it does boot on other machines. I booted other CDs before and it worked. I did not use a DVD, and I burned it at 3X.
Guest Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Does the laptop have a floppy drive? I was able to get passed that error on a Windows 7 DVD by using gujin.
pokeseeker Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 It doesn't. It's more like it did have a floppy drive, but was replaced with a DVD drive. Oh, I don't know if this will help, but I used DBAN.
g-force Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) Try to change these settings:[Unattended]UnattendMode = 5 ComputerType = Standard PC <<<< change to "Automatic"and don`t work on the Desktop, use folders (maybe on other partitions):[Drivers]C:\Documents and Settings\00653922\Desktop\nlite\AWLCH3028_051208\AWLCH3028_051208\RTL8185\WinXP2K\net8185.inf,0[Hotfixes]C:\Documents and Settings\00653922\Desktop\nlite\XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack_1.0.6_20090714.7z Edited September 7, 2009 by g-force
