Junior2613 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I'm not sure about this but It seems the new Win7 drivers from Realtek causes a lot of crackling. But I seems to have fixed my issue not by any magic but by installed old realtek drivers it seems R170 (v1.7) seems to stop the crackling at any bitrate

Please could you give me a hint on how to get these old Realtek drives that you mention in your message? Thank you.

aviv00 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 did u try this verhttp://www.driver-soft.com/html/118888.html
Junior2613 Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 Looks like 2.29 or 2.30 I tried 2.30 and it crackled like someone eating crisps. Also if you vlited your 7 make sure you don't remove multimedia class scheduler.
bernat_codina Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks for your answer, Junior2613. Unfortunately, the drivers that worked for you aren't supported by my system. I found a very good improvement after installing the relatively old drives that came with my system plus the ATI HDMI Audio Device R2.29 from the Realtek site. This is not the ultimate solution as I keep hearing crackles from time to time, but they are now much more bearable. I hope that new Seven updates will fix this problem.
Junior2613 Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 have you tried dropping the bitrates on your sound ?? because really you should be at 16bit @ 48khZ or something but sometimes it gets set to 24bit @ 192khZ
