Hi There, I am a purchasing mgr for a company of 5000. Last year we bought enterprise-wide perpetual licenses for Vontu's (now Symantec) Data Loss Prevention Product Family at $38 per license with an annual premium maintenance package at 20% of the initial license fee.

Can anyone comment on whether this is a good price and whether you think it would be possible to re-negotiate the maintenance down to 18% or lower?

I cant really say as I am not familiar with this type of software or alternatives. IMO if you're using Server 2008 you might be able to substitute by using the RMS (Rights Management Service) role.
