DigeratiPrime Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Intel does not (suprisingly) support Windows 7 yet, but I figure the Vista x86 and x64 drivers should work the same on Windows 7.http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Fi...01〈=engThe problem is the drivers in Windows 7 RC are 8.6.2.1012 4/8/2009The latest package on Intel's site are 8.8.0.1009 3/13/2009 It is odd that the drivers shipped with 7 RC are dated newer but a lower version number, something is wrong.Anyway, I am not really interested in having the latest drivers, but rather just want at least the Matrix Storage Console so I can monitor the status of my drives.I am not sure if I should run the installer, because I am not sure if it is going to install bad drivers and cause problems. Ideas?
CoffeeFiend Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 One could try the -n or -nodrv switches to prevent driver installation, or even just copy the installed files over...
DigeratiPrime Posted July 11, 2009 Author Posted July 11, 2009 No kidding, I should have tried a /? or looked into the readme further. I tried -n and it worked, no reboot, just the console. Thanks

DigeratiPrime Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Thanks for the confirmation fizban2 I have decided to hold off though as I came across some people are having problems with 8.8.0.1009 and 8.9.0.1023 here:http://communities.intel.com/message/25868
fizban2 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 nope, i have 4 seagate drives and have had 0 issues with any build of windows 7, the early beta builds if i lost power unexpectedly would cause a rebuild of the array frequently but since RC had not had that issue
DigeratiPrime Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Apparently a couple days after the last post here, Intel added drivers with official support for Windows 7 RC1 x86 and x64, interesting Server 2008 R2 is not 'supported' yet.Note: The actual setup file is the same for both and contains drivers for both architectures.x86 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_res...mp;submit=Go%21x64 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_res...mp;submit=Go%21readme http://downloadmirror.intel.com/17882/eng/readme.txtrelease notes http://downloadmirror.intel.com/17882/eng/releasenotes.htm
