billybag Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 (edited) I am trying to make an image of Vista ULTIMATE 32 bit. I get all the way to the end where it says "Finished" Then it gives me the FINISH and the EXIT button. I clcik finish and the program just closes. I cannot seem to progress to the next step of creating the actual ISO. Any ideas?EDIT: And is it possible to just make an ISO with a 3rd party iso creator, like ISO Recorder 3.1, instead? iamtheky Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I use cdimage command line. There is a nice GUI here thohttp://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/15/
billybag Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) I got CDBOOT: Couldn't find NTLDRI am using VirtualBox to test this by the wayEDIT: Is it possible that this is due to it being a DELL Install CD. It is my CD i use to reinstall windows. It has windows on it, But it is Dell-inized or what have you Edited May 23, 2009 by billybag
iamtheky Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...st&p=631282cdimage switches are similar i use -h -n -o -m -w2 (you may need the -u2 to make a UDF disc as recommended). I am sure there is a nice selection in the GUI that allows for this if it ends up being the issue.
billybag Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 (edited) Thank you iamtheky. I was able to make the ISO using that method and it booted up fine on Virtual Box......but then i get an error:Windows Installation has encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation. Error Code: 0xE00001000I am googling that error code now to see what i can come up with before i decide to make a new thread. I wonder if it is because i am using virtual box though.EDIT: Mounting the ISO on my computer and opening it up that way, without virtual box, seems to have worked. it got me to the first step of the install process which is further than what i got before. Still would like some thoughts on this though before i burn it on a disk and waste a blank cd. Edited May 23, 2009 by billybag
