Try booting in Safe Mode first from the F8 menu.

Check the following registry key to see if its different

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe,

You may need to replace the winlogon.exe from the Recovery Console.

If you can, post a HiJackThis log
